WWF Superstars of Wrestling (November 15, 1986)

Original Airdate: November 15, 1986 (taped October 28)

From Binghamton, New York; Your Hosts are Vince McMahon, Bruno Sammartino, and Jesse Ventura

The Islanders v Barry O and Gladiator: As far as Samoan teams go, the Islanders had the worst luck in terms of accomplishments. I mean, the WWF has been booking this family tree to titles in nearly every decade, multiple times, but these two never amounted to much. Though, I guess Haku did get a tag title run with Andre later, at least. The Islanders with a combo on Gladiator at 2:08. DUD

Gene Okerlund is in the studio with Update, giving us a look at the water skiing Rougeau Brothers

Jesse catches up with Honky Tonk Man, who is unsure of himself due to mixed fan reactions. He calls for a ‘vote of confidence’ from the fans

Butch Reed v Mario Mancini: Not much going with Butch here, and he finishes with a 2nd rope clothesline at 1:43. DUD

Ken Resnick catches up with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, who ‘ain’t’ scared of Kamala. I kind of want to see Hulk play the Joe Pesci role in My Cousin Vinny now. I envision him calling the judge ‘your brother’ instead of ‘your honor.’ Everything could have been different. Everything could have been better

Recently, George Steele visited a fast food drivethrough

Don Muraco and Bob Orton v Don Driggers and Jerry Allen: Don and Bob split screen in, and basically admit to doing cocaine right there on camera. Muraco with a tombstone on one jobber as Ace hits the other with a superplex, and referee Danny Davis counts two simultaneous pinfalls at 2:00. DUD

Resnick catches up with Paul Orndorff, who is going to win the WWF Title… by beating up Junkyard Dog. Whatever you say, pal

The Can-Am Connection v Moondog Spot and Steve Lombardi: This is the Connection's debut, and also marks Martel's full time return to the WWF for the first time since April 1982. The Connection easily handle this at 2:26. Not a major piece of work, but an effective debut. DUD

Roddy Piper hosts Piper’s Pit, with guest Hulk Hogan. And, given their history, a bunch of officials join them to keep the peace. But, it’s not needed, as they put each other over. Not much else, though

Outback Jack vignette

The Hart Foundation v Sivi Afi and Johnny Mann: Jesse gets some funny lines in here, putting Jim Neidhart over for graduating college, and then interrogating McMahon about his own academic accomplishments. The Foundation with the Hart Attack at 3:18. DUD

Honky makes his case to the fans. He even kissed your disgusting babies! Vote for him!

Captain Lou Albano announces that his appearance tonight will be his last as an active manager

King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd v Big Machine and Super Machine: The Machines stick and move on Studd, so he passes to Bundy. Bundy tries for the avalanche right away, but misses, and it’s back to Studd. Big bodyslams him for two, and Studd wisely bails. The heels wise up and double team, and they’re able to get Super down long enough to pin at 3:01. DUD

Resnick catches up with Wizard, which amounts to a lot of shouting

BUExperience: Nothing of note this time out.
