From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Your Hosts are Michael Cole and Jim Cornette
WWF Light Heavyweight Title Match: Duane Gill v Christian: Christian kick starts things, and goes to town in the corner. Christian with a cross corner whip, and a powerslam on the rebound allows him some mounted punches. Christian lands a dropkick, and a two-alarm rolling vertical suplex shifts into a gourdbuster to set up a flying headbutt - only for Gill to dodge. Christian clotheslines him to keep control, but Blue Meanie runs in for the DQ at 1:44. Well, we are in Philadelphia. ¼*
D-lo Brown v Steve Blackman: Blackman goes to town with strikes early on, and a bodyslam follows, but a criss cross goes D-lo’s way with a leg lariat. Brown uses a bodyslam to set up a legdrop, but a cross corner whip gets reversed, and Blackman dropkicks him out of the ring. Steve delivers a bodyslam on the floor, as Blue Blazer pops out from underneath the ring. Unfortunately for Blazer, his cape gets caught on something, and he fails to attack before Blackman can nail him. But, unfortunately for Blackman in turn, D-lo sneaks in for the countout win at 2:17. Steve doesn’t even care, instead focusing on beating up Blazer, but Blazer gets away before Blackman can go for the mask. DUD
The Corporation are up in the luxury boxes, and Vince McMahon is giving his troops the marching orders for the night
The Glover Rewind is the ICP turning on the Oddities on RAW
Kevin Kelly catches up with the Oddities, who are fuming over the Headbangers and ICP cutting Luna’s hair off. Yeah, wouldn’t want her to look weird, that would be a shame
The Headbangers v Val Venis and Godfather: Godfather declines to offer the hoes, since Val wore them out the night before. The Headbangers respond by attacking, and they double up on Val, after clearing Godfather out of the ring. They go to work on Val as the dust settles, but here come the Oddities. That allows Val to powerslam Mosh, and he tags Godfather… who promptly runs into a double team. The heels work Godfather over, but another distraction from the Oddities allows Godfather an inverted fireman cutter at 2:07. This was really rough, even for a two minute match. But the characters are over, so the crowd was invested regardless. DUD
Up in the box, the New Age Outlaws are welcomed by the Corporation
Cole and Grandmaster Robbie hype Bop It. You pull it, bop it, or twist it. Even Al Snow can do it!
In the box, the Outlaws are snacking, and having fun with Vince and his goons
WWF European Title Match: X-Pac v Mark Henry: Mark is more excited about his date with Chyna than the title, and he reads her a poem. X-Pac capitalizes by attacking with a baseball slide, and he throws chops. A criss cross allows X-Pac a dropkick, and a spinheel kick gets the champion two. X-Pac with a flying bodypress, but he gets caught in a powerslam. Avalanche, but X-Pac dodges, and throws a series of kicks in the corner to set up a bronco buster. X-Pac tries a corner whip, but Henry reverses, and follows in with the avalanche. D-lo shouts advice from the outside, but it distracts Henry, and X-Pac recovers with a sitout facebuster at 1:52. This wasn’t going along badly, but was too short to ever really find second gear. Afterwards, Kelly comes in to talk to X-Pac, who promises to kill Mark if he gets out of line on the date with Chyna. ¼*
Up in the box, the Outlaws storm out
Yesterday, at an event in Boston, Steve Austin swore revenge on Undertaker over the whole embalming thing. That little thing? What a hothead!
Undertaker will be waiting for Austin tomorrow on RAW, and if Kane shows up, Paul Bearer will have him committed
Jeff Jarrett vignette. He’s pissed off about baseball, and specifically the New York Yankees. Okay, good to know
Kane v Jeff Jarrett: Debra McMichael distracts Kane, allowing Jeff to attack, but Kane quickly fights him off. Kane with a big boot, and a clothesline sends Jeff over the top. Kane follows to the outside to drop Jarrett across the guardrail, and he delivers a sidewalk slam on the way back in. Kane lands a flying clothesline, but a big boot misses, and Jeff clips the leg. Jeff stays on him with a DDT, but a flying axehandle gets caught. That draws Debra in with another distraction, and Jarrett hits him with the guitar for the DQ at 2:13 - though Kane no sells it completely. ¼*
Ken Shamrock and Big Boss Man v Mankind and Al Snow: WWF Champion Rock is out to do guest commentary. Everyone brawls to start, and the dust settles on Ken and Al. Snow dominates, but gets reversed into the corner, and Shamrock uses a rana. Shamrock with a clothesline before passing to Boss Man, who goes to town in the corner. Boss Man misses an avalanche, allowing the tag to Mankind, and Mankind tees off, but gets distracted by Rock’s presence. That allows Boss Man to clobber him, and he corner splashes Mankind. Tag to Ken for a backelbow, but he telegraphs a backdrop, and Mankind delivers a swinging neckbreaker. Tag back to Al, but he walks into a belly-to-belly suplex, as Mankind dives to the outside to brawl with Rock instead of hanging on the apron. That allows Boss Man to hit Al, and Snow is pinned at 2:43. Afterwards, the JOB Squad run out to attack the Corporation in Snow’s defense, but the Brood attack them, and it’s a big brawl to end the show. DUD
BUExperience: The actual wrestling was a complete afterthought, but it was a hot show, staged in a large arena, and with a fiery crowd.
