NWA (JCP) World Championship Wrestling (November 1, 1986)

Original Airdate: November 1, 1986

Your Hosts are Tony Schiavone and David Crockett from the studio

NWA Mid-Atlantic Champion Ron Garvin swings by, and he wants Ric Flair for the NWA World title at Starrcade. But, he’ll settle for literally any match on the show. Gosh, way to sound confident, Ron

Brad Armstrong v Gary Royal: From World Wide Wrestling on October 25 (taped October 21) in Greenwood South Carolina. Royal misses a dive, and eats a missile dropkick at a brisk 0:30. Alright then. DUD

Tony catches up with Marion Allen, mother of Magnum TA, who gives us an update on his recovery, as well as expresses gratitude to all the fans who have been checking on him. This was fine, and obviously a real life situation they were working around, so you wouldn’t expect more than what we got here. At least Tony didn’t start grilling her, and asking her how she plans to feed her family, or something

Tully Blanchard and JJ Dillon swing by, and they’re fuming about Dusty Rhodes giving poor JJ a pair of black eyes. Tully demands a match with Dusty at Starrcade, and if Rhodes won’t sign, then none of the Four Horsemen will appear at the show

We get clips of the night Dusty gave Dillon the injury, which was also when Nikita Koloff came out to back Rhodes up, turning babyface. Koloff standing on the middle rope, and making the ‘belt’ motion at an irate Flair drew huge heat, and despite being a pivot, was incredibly well done

Dusty and Nikita sit down to talk about their new alliance

Tony and Jim Crockett are in the control center for the Starrcade Report

Great American Bash VHS ad. Adjusted for inflation, that $100 in 2025 money

Ivan Koloff swears revenge on nephew Nikita for his betrayal

Jimmy Garvin v Keith Patterson: From World Wide Wrestling on October 25 (taped October 21) in Greenwood South Carolina. Garvin with a brainbuster at 1:22. DUD

Wahoo McDaniel swings by, and he’ll take on Paul Jones’ Army - one at a time, or all at once. Well, that’s ambitious

Ivan Koloff and Krusher Kruschev v Rocky Kernodle and Unnamed Jobber: From October 21 in Greenwood, though this didn't previously air on World Wide. Sadly, that’s not a gimmick, he’s just an unnamed jobber. The Russians put this away at 0:59. DUD

Rick Rude, Manny Fernandez, and Paul Jones are out so Paul can talk about his hair. Who is he, Fonzie?

Six-Man Tag Team Match: Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Ole Anderson v Tony Zane, John Savage, and Mike Somaini: Also from the October 25 World Wide. The Horsemen all in matching gear is a miss. Tully with a slingshot suplex at 3:51. DUD

Great American Bash VHS ad

The Midnight Express v Bill Mulkey and Randy Mulkey: Also from the October 25 World Wide. The Express put this one away at 2:49 with the rocket launcher. DUD

Dutch Mantel and Bobby Jaggers stop by to endorse Dusty’s decision to team with Nikita

BUExperience: No idea why this was basically a World Wide clip show this week, but there you go.
