Original Airdate: August 26, 1991
Your Host is Sean Mooney from the control center
Mooney runs down the card to start
We journey back to WrestleMania VII, where Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth reunited, and then to Superstars of Wrestling, where Macho asked Liz for her hand in marriage. Kind of a small diamond for such a big star
We take a look at the other half, the Match Made in Hell, with clips of Sgt. Slaughter attacking WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, backstage, after WrestleMania
The Triangle of Terror promise to end both Hulkamania and… whatever Ultimate Warrior calls his… tonight
Meanwhile, Warrior’s been going through his own shit with Jake Roberts. They should have just done Hogan/Warrior against Slaughter/Roberts here, instead of the clowns they paired Sarge with. Not that those guys weren’t formidable at one time, but that time wasn’t 1991
We take a look at Sid Justice saving Hulk from the Triangle of Terror at the SummerSlam Spectacular
WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect will not be stripped of the title tonight. Interesting choice of words, given how the match ended
Bret Hart promises to hang with Perfect for as long as it takes for him to make a mistake, and he’ll be ready to take the gold when he does
WWF Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys actually think they’re going to beat the Legion of Doom in a Street Fight
The Legion of Doom may be cracked, but even they know what’s up
We take a look back at the Virgil turning on Ted DiBiase at Royal Rumble
DiBiase laughs off Virgil’s challenge
Virgil feels lower than a dog… so imagine how far down he’s going to drag DiBiase tonight
We get a look at the New York City jail cell where the loser of the Jailhouse Match will end up tonight
Clips of Mountie attacking Big Boss Man with his shock stick on Superstars
Mountie is ready to send Boss Man to the can tonight
Boss Man is ready to make Mountie face hard time
We get clips of, perhaps, the most shocking heel turn of all time: as Tugboat turns on the Bushwhackers to align with Earthquake on Superstars. I’ve never actually seen that footage before, and I always kind of wondered how we got from Tugboat to Typhoon, so I actually appreciated this
Clips of Andre the Giant refusing Jimmy Hart’s attempts to sign him, and siding with the Bushwhackers. That causes Earthquake to clip his leg, and deliver a beatdown, in another clip I’d never seen. It’s incredible how big Andre was… Earthquake, who is a very large man to begin with, looks like a tiny dude beside him here
The Natural Disasters are going to end the Bushwhackers’ careers, and Andre’s for good measure. I think time beat you to that one, guys
Andre and the Bushwhackers enjoy each other’s company. I feel like the Bushwhackers are the only people on the roster who could tolerate Andre in those shirts he would sweat through
Irwin R. Schyster is ready to make Greg Valentine pay
Valentine is going to write IRS off
Mooney runs the card down one last time
BUExperience: SummerSlam ‘91 is an awesome show, and this just made me want to go back and watch it all over again.
