ECW Tag Team Champions Public Enemy act a fool
Jason wants to sic the Pitbulls on Tazmaniac
Jimmy Snuka v Tazmaniac: From Philadelphia Pennsylvania on June 26. Posturing to start. For an extended period. There’s just fuck all going on in the first five minutes. Snuka finally starts pounding him, but a shot from Hunter Q Robbins III ends up hitting Jimmy by mistake, and Tazmaniac northern lights suplexes him at 5:15. Afterwards, the Pitbulls go after Tazmaniac, but he fights them off with a chair. Rockin’ Rebel tries running in, but Tazmaniac takes him out, so the locker room empties out with jobbers, and Tazmaniac kills them all as well. DUD
Sandman counts down the clock on Mikey Whipwreck’s title reign
ECW Television Title Match: Mikey Whipwreck v Sandman: From Philadelphia Pennsylvania on June 26. Sandman with a hanging vertical suplex right away, and a corner whip follows to rattle the ring. Sandman with another vertical suplex, and he dumps Mikey to the outside for Woman to abuse. Back inside, Sandman uses a spinning bodyslam to set up a flying elbowdrop, and he gives him a second one for good measure. Sandman stops to grab a smoke, as Joey keeps talking about how ECW is the ‘new generation’ of wrestling. Um. Sandman goes to the top for another dive, but Tommy Cairo knocks him off the top, and beats on both guys with a kendo stick to draw the DQ at 3:44. ½*
The Enemy are a little nervous about having to get in the ring with the Funk brothers, but as they wander around, they find some homeless dude (Hack Meyers), and recruit him to join their group. These guys are more entertaining than they should be
ECW Champion Shane Douglas reminds Mr. Hughes that he needs to protect the champ at all costs
Rockin' Rebel v Chad Austin: From Philadelphia Pennsylvania on June 26. Austin decides to hit the mat and let Rebel pin him at 0:03, which he dedicates to all the ‘scumbags’ in the crowd. He’s pissed that everyone doesn’t cheer him. DUD
Sandman is so mad at Tommy Cairo, that he starts beating his own head bloody
Paul E. Dangerously is outside, and he can’t believe how much pro-wrestling has changed. I mean, even Vince McMahon is on trial!
Six-Man Tag Team Match: Terry Funk, Dory Funk Jr, and Tommy Dreamer v Rocco Rock, Johnny Grunge, and Hack Meyers: From Philadelphia Pennsylvania on June 26. They don’t even make it to the ring before this gets started, with the heels taking Dory out with a chair during the entrances. Everyone brawls, and Dory comes back with a chair to take dudes out. As he and Terry brawl with the Enemy in the crowd, Dreamer hits Meyers with a DDT for the pin at 2:37. Afterwards, Douglas runs in to attack Tommy, the locker room empties for another big brawl to end the show. Man, did they do that on every single go home show that year? DUD
BUExperience: This show is occasionally good, but mostly bad. This was a ‘mostly.’
