Original Airdate: December 14, 1987
Your Hosts are Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan from the studio
Jake Roberts v Danny Davis: From New York City on November 24 1987. Davis with some extended stalling at the bell, before they move on to posturing. Well, baby steps. Jake gets a wristlock on and works on that for a while, until Danny gets loose, and bails for more stalling. Inside, Jake bodyslams him, so Davis bails again, and Roberts goes after him this time. That allows Danny to steal the high ground, and he hammers on Jake to turn the tide. A knee gets Danny two, and he starts unloading, but Jake gets fired up, and starts making a comeback. Roberts with the DDT at 7:24. This was really boring. DUD
WWF Women's Tag Team Title Match: The Glamour Girls v The Jumping Bomb Angels: From New York on November 24. The champs kickstart and blitz, but the Angels use their speed to get out of trouble. The champs use their experience edge to turn the tide, and they go to work cutting the ring in half. The hot tag is made, and the Angels run wild, and they have Leilani Kai beat, but the referee is distracted, and the count is delayed. That allows Judy Martin to deliver an illegal powerbomb, and Kai covers at 13:58. This wasn’t bad work, but the announcers refusing to really call the match before the finish made doing play-by-play difficult. ¾*
From Superstars of Wrestling, Craig DeGeorge brings Greg Valentine out for a podium interview, along with new manager Jimmy Hart. They don’t understand why people like Brutus Beefcake, but it doesn’t matter, because Greg will drive him out of the WWF soon
From Superstars, DeGeorge catches up with President Jack Tunney to get his take on whether Ted DiBiase can legally purchase the WWF Title, but Jack doesn’t even really know if it’s legal. He’s looking into it, though
From Superstars, DeGeorge caught up with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, who confirms that DiBiase has made an offer, but he hasn’t made a decision yet
Demolition v Brady Boone and Jim Evans: From Superstars of Wrestling on December 12 (taped November 17) in Des Moines Iowa. Jesse notes that Boone is a moron for getting back in there with Demolition, after what happened to him last time. Meanwhile, Billy Jack Haynes and Ken Patera split screen in, promising to defend idiot Boone. Demolition finish Evans with a combo at 2:03. Afterwards, Boone takes a beating, until Patera and Haynes save. DUD
DeGeorge catches up with Koko B. Ware and Junkyard Dog, who are now a team, and it’s ‘new and exciting.’ Koko looks really small next to JYD, like he’s his little brother, or something
The Killer Bees v The Bolsheviks: From New York on November 24. Joined in progress with the Bees working Nikolai Volkoff over, targeting his knee. The heels manage to turn things around on B. Brian Blair, and they work him over, cutting the ring in half. The Bees eventually put the masks on and get a leg up via chicanery, causing things to break down, and Roseanne Barr the door! The Bees outsmart the Russians, and Boris Zhukov takes a flying bodypress at 11:51 shown of 20:26. Too much was cut here to give it a proper rating, but it was pretty boring, so I don’t think anyone missed much here.
Greg Valentine v Ivan Putski: From Philadelphia Pennsylvania on November 7. Posturing to start, with Putski putting the fear in Valentine. Greg manages to suplex him down, but Putski kind of ignores it, and slugs the Hammer down for a chinlock. They slug it out again, with Putski again dominating, and Greg ends up on the outside. Greg sweeps the leg from out there, and he bashes Putski’s knee into the post a few times to turn the tide. Valentine gets the figure four on as he heads back in, and the referee calls for the bell at 8:00, despite Ivan very vocally not submitting. I guess the idea here is that the referee was concerned for his knee, but it came off really badly, and looked like a screwjob. But, since the announcers were openly acknowledging that Putski wasn’t submitting, it clearly wasn’t. DUD
Superstar Billy Graham tribute video. I like how 80% of his ‘tribute’ is clips Butch Reed ending his career
Bam Bam Bigelow v Killer Khan: From Boston Massachusetts on November 7. Posturing early on, as Gorilla frets that we might have to see the green mist. I’m worried that we have to see the match. Khan gets control and hammers Bam Bam down, and a snapmare sets up a legdrop for two. Bam Bam fights him off, and makes a comeback, using a bodyslam to set up a splash for two. An avalanche gets blocked, allowing Khan a superkick, but the mist misses, and Bam Bam throws a standing dropkick, then a splash at 8:09. DUD
BUExperience: No good wrestling, and kind of dull, though Gorilla and Bobby were reliably entertaining.
