Original Airdate: November 3, 1996 (taped October 22)
From Cincinnati, Ohio; Your Hosts are Jim Ross and Mr. Perfect
'Diesel' and 'Razor Ramon' v Aldo Montoya and Barry Horowitz: What was up with all the audio issues they had during this period? It was seriously like every other show! Diesel hits Barry with a powerbomb at 3:38. This felt endless. DUD
Jesse James v Frank Stilleto: They hype up that they’ll be live at Brian Pillman’s home during RAW tomorrow night, and that it might ‘resemble a war zone.’ Yeah, well. James with a pumphandle-slam at 3:02. The only interesting thing going on here is Jesse using a big boot at one point. Seriously, that’s it. DUD
Survivor Series ad, featuring a promo from Steve Austin on Bret Hart. Austin was so far ahead of everyone else that it’s like he’s on another planet
Steve Austin v Tom Mores: Brian Pillman calls in to talk about his injury following the pillmanizing last week, and he says he’s recovering nicely. Ross mentions that Steve is planning to come to Brian’s home during RAW tomorrow, but Brian isn’t worried, since he’s got a ‘welcoming committee’ for him in the form of a nine millimeter. You can’t say they didn’t warn you. Steve with the stunner at 2:59. As awesome as Austin was, this also felt really long. The agents needed to pick up a ‘best of the Road Warriors’ box set, or something. DUD
Bret Hart joins us from the studio, and Hart clarifies that he’s at 100% after taking some much needed time off, and he’s ready for his comeback. And since Austin is the best wrestler in the promotion today, if he beats him, well, it’s easy street after that. I like how he keeps taking these subtle swipes at Shawn Michaels. You could see how they’re building up to a rematch that sadly never happened
Crush v Bruno Taylor: They put over Taylor ‘making his first appearance,’ as if it’s a debut. Stop putting over jobbers, you losers. Clarence Mason comes over to do guest commentary as Crush squashes the jobber, and finishes with the heart punch at 1:38. Hey, they got those tapes! DUD
Goldust v Marc Mero: Goldust attacks at the bell, but Marc fights him off with a backdrop, and uses a pair of armdrags into an armbar. Goldust fights him off in the corner, and manages a powerslam to set up mounted punches. A criss cross allows Mero a bodypress for two, and he makes a comeback, as Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Mr. Perfect come down to ringside. Perfect makes a move on Sable, which allows HHH to sneak in on Mero. That draws Stalker out to fight Helmsley, and the referee throws the whole thing out at 1:49. Yeah, fake Diesel gets four minutes, but this gets two? Okay, someone return the box set. ¼*
BUExperience: Terrible episode. Outside of the Austin stuff, terrible promotion in general at this point. Though, it would get better.
