ECW Hardcore TV (October 25, 1994)

Original Airdate: October 25, 1994

Your Host is Joey Styles

ECW World Champion Shane Douglas laughs it up

Borne Again, feels bad for how he’s treated Too Cold Scorpio. He appears to be doing a Roddy Piper impression here, and I’m kinda here for it

Too Cold Scorpio v Hack Meyers: From Hamburg Pennsylvania on September 30. Hack slugs him down in the corner early on, but a cross corner whip gets reversed. Scorpio follows in with a corner splash, but Hack sidesteps, and clotheslines him over the top. Hack brings him back in just so he can have the pleasure of dumping him again, but Scorpio reverses. Scorpio adds a baseball slide and a dive, before smashing Meyers into the timekeeper’s table. Scorpio tries suplexing him back in, but Meyers blocks, so Scorpio uses a pair of dropkicks instead. A bodyslam sets up a flying twisting splash for two, but Hack fights him off. He goes to the top, but falls off, and Scorpio gives him a nasty tombstone. That allows Scorpio to go back up, and a flying 450 splash finishes at 4:46. *

Public Enemy are ready to go to the dogs against the Pitbulls

Fans call in on the Hardcore Hotline to weigh in on the Sandman/Tommy Dreamer/Tommy Cairo situation

Paul E. Dangerously reminds Cactus Jack that he may be tough, but he’s never beaten Sabu. This is an insanely long promo, probably ten minutes

ECW Television Champion Jason makes love to his title belt. Another overlong segment

Clips of Tommy Cairo trying to blind Mikey Whipwreck at a recent event, before Tommy Dreamer made the save

Tazmaniac v Chris Benoit: From Hamburg Pennsylvania on September 30. Benoit grabs a standing side-headlock, but Tazmaniac slams him to force a break. Chris goes back to the headlock after regrouping, but Tazmaniac drops him again. Chris corners him for chops, but a cross corner whip gets reversed, and Tazmaniac overhead suplexes him on the rebound. A criss cross leads to a reversal sequence that Benoit wins with a sunset cradle for two, and a dropkick puts Tazmaniac on the floor for a baseball slide. Benoit gloats, allowing Tazmaniac to sneak back in with a German suplex, and Chris bails. Tazmaniac follows to feed him the steps and the guardrail, and they spill into the crowd, where Tazmaniac beats on him with a chair. Tazmaniac with another suplex as they head back to ringside, but Benoit reverses him into the post. Inside, Benoit vertical superplexes him for two, and a bodyslam leads to a Boston crab. Chris throws a clothesline for two, but a second one gets countered with a suplex for two. Benoit fights him off in the corner, and a snap suplex gets him two. A knife-edge chop follows, so Tazmaniac goes low, and tags him with a headbutt next. Tazmaniac goes to the mat with an armbar, so Chris rakes the eyes, and throws a few rights. A powerbomb gets him two, so Tazmaniac goes back to the well with another suplex for two. Chris fights back with a bodyslam to set up a 2nd rope elbowdrop for two, and another reversal sequence ends in Tazmaniac German suplexing him for two. Chris with another bodyslam to set up a flying headbutt drop for two, so he goes back up, but Tazmaniac northern lights superplexes him off this time! Cover, but time expires at 9:20. This was tons of fun, with Benoit getting the best out of Tazmaniac. ** ½

Shane Douglas reminds us that he’s not a cartoon character

BUExperience: The two matches were good, but the Dangerously and Jason segments were punishingly long.
