From Memphis, Tennessee; Your Hosts are Kevin Kelly and Shane McMahon
Shane brings Vince McMahon out, and since Vince has already beaten Steve Austin twice, he’s ready to show mercy, and offers him a chance to forfeit their match for St. Valentine’s Day Massacre
Backstage, WWF Champion Mankind’s trainer Dominic DeNucci brings Bob Backlund and Iron Sheik in to give him some last minute training for his title defense
Test v Viscera: They slug it out at the bell, won by Viscera. Test tries a headlock, but Viscera whips him into the corner, and uses a clothesline on the rebound. Cross corner whip, but Test reverses, and throws a big boot, then a clothesline for two. Vertical suplex, but Viscera reverses, and delivers a bodyslam. Splash, but Big Boss Man trips him up, and Test schoolboys for two. Test tries a backdrop, but Viscera counters with a piledriver, and drops a splash. Cover, but Boss Man comes in for the DQ at 2:19. ¼*
Backstage, Michael Cole catches up with Billy Gunn, who is ready to official the WWF Intercontinental title match between Ken Shamrock and Val Venis at the pay per view, after he ‘gets done with this 7/11 manager’ he’s wrestling in a minute. Jesus…
Backstage, Rock interviews masseuses. Do most masseuses come to work dresses like strippers?
Jerry Lawler brings Debra McMichael out for an in-ring interview, and of course, the King gets a massive pop here in Memphis. Debra wants Ivory to come out so she can make her ‘an offer’ in person. Ivory is out, and did these three all coordinate beforehand, or were they just individually into the Valentine’s Day spirit? Debra wants to make the Owen Hart/Jeff Jarrett v D-lo Brown/Mark Henry match for the pay per view into a six-man, but Ivory isn’t stupid, since then the tag title won’t be on the line. They end up clawing at each other, until Owen, Jeff, D-lo, and Mark run out to break it up
Backstage, Sheik teaches Mankind how to work with the Persian clubs
Backstage, Cole goes to Austin’s dressing room to see if he’s going to be forfeiting, but gets the door slammed in his face
Backstage, Ryan Shamrock tries to use her feminine wiles to sway Billy Gunn ahead of his refereeing duties
Shamrock/Venis feud review video
Billy Gunn v Tiger Ali Singh: Triple H and X-Pac sit in on commentary, so Shane bails. Singh sneak attacks, but Billy quickly fights him off with a rocker dropper. Cover, but the referee is bumped, so Val Venis runs in to count the pin himself at 0:36. “Put that in your cab and smoke it,” notes tryhard HHH. Ken Shamrock is right there to attack Val, but Billy saves… then kicks Val’s ass himself. DUD
Backstage, DeNucci wants Mankind to throw dropkicks tonight
Backstage, Vince reminds the Corporation that he doesn’t want anyone getting involved tonight, in the event that Austin doesn’t forfeit
Mankind/Rock feud review video
Backstage, Backlund is showing Mankind how to get his cardio up, when Rock pops out to attack the champion with a trashcan
Vince is out to give Austin the countdown to forfeit, but instead of getting Steve, he gets Shawn Michaels! Shawn wants to personally beat up Vince, since Steve can’t touch him until the match, but before he can, here’s Stone Cold! Vince slaps him to try and trigger a physical response, but Steve is too smart, and just reminds Vince that the match is right around the corner
BUExperience: Nothing as far as in-ring action goes, but they did a good job of hyping the biggest matches for the pay per view one last time.
