WWF Prime Time Wrestling (November 5, 1987)

Original Airdate: November 5, 1987

Your Hosts are Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan from the studio

Don Muraco v Bob Orton: From Boston Massachusetts on October 3. Orton attacks to kickstart things, and he pounds Don down, then chokes him with a vest. Muraco returns fire with a punch, and they end up slugging it out - won by Muraco with a turnbuckle smash. Orton turns the tide back, and holds an armbar for a while, until Muraco escapes, and makes a comeback. Orton tries a leveraged rollup, but only gets two, and Muraco reverses for three at 8:16. I’ve enjoyed their feud, and I’m happy to get a chance to see one of the matches… though it was pretty dull, truthfully. ¼*

Craig DeGeorge is in the control center for Special Report, with a look at the brewing Jim Duggan/Harley Race feud

From Superstars of Wrestling, DeGeorge brings WWF Intercontinental Champion Honky Tonk Man out for a podium interview to talk about Survivor Series

Sam Houston v Iron Mike Sharpe: From Rochester New York on October 28. Houston with a bulldog at 10:40. Yes, eleven minutes to squash Mike Sharpe. No wonder he never became a big star. DUD

Gene Okerlund catches up with Strike Force, who are going to lead their team to victory at Survivor Series

DeGeorge is in the control center with Special Report, covering the Paul Orndorff/Rick Rude body feud

Hillbilly Jim v Boris Zhukov: From Toronto Ontario Canada on October 11. Posturing to start, and Zhukov dominates a test-of-strength. Jim fights free, so Zhukov tries a kick to the gut, but Jim blocks, and delivers an atomic drop for two. Boris bails, but manages to turn things around as he comes back in, and he goes to work. Zhukov with a high knee at 11:58. Painfully dull. DUD

From Wrestling Challenge, DeGeorge brings Hogan out for a podium interview, as he continues to be all over the show this week. Hulk is all about Gloria Gaynor this week - he will survive

Two-out-of-Three Falls Match: Demolition v The Killer Bees: From Houston Texas on October 9. Smash and Jim Brunzell start, they they posture. Brunzell tries to fly around, but gets caught in a bearhug, and Smash goes to work in the corner. Smash with a cross corner whip, but the charge in misses, and B. Brian Blair catches a tag in. The Bees double team, so Smash puts Blair in a bearhug, but he quickly escapes. Tag to Ax, and he pounds Brunzell into mush. A bodyslam gets Ax two, so Brunzell tries a wristlock, but Ax just punches him in the face. The teams continue to trade off without much direction or advantage, until Demolition get control on Blair, and work him over. Blair manages to shake Ax off long enough to tag, and Brunzell gets a leglock on, but the Bees get overwhelmed, and Brian eats the first fall at 8:36. The Bees go right back on offense as we move into the second fall, but Ax manages to get away, and tags. Smash hits Blair with an atomic drop, but Brunzell caught a blind tag in the meantime, and he nails Smash with a dropkick at 12:01. Both teams brawl at the start of the final fall, and Demolition get control on Blair. Man, this building must have had no air conditioning (or even circulation) because all four guys look like they’re boiling out there. Brunzell gets the hot tag, and Roseanne Barr the door! The Bees control, but a shot with Mr. Fuji’s cane knocks Jim silly, and Smash pins him at 21:04. Boring, but competent enough. ¾*

BUExperience: Terrible matches. And so few of them!

Of note: this is the first episode that Bruce Prichard is credited on.
