We open with clips of the Razor Ramon v Shawn Michaels Ladder match at WrestleMania X, and we have a ladder set up at center ring in the arena as we get started

We take a look back to last Monday night on RAW, where Davey Boy Smith turned heel on WWF Champion Diesel

Backstage, Jim Ross gives an update on Diesel’s condition, and while he hasn’t spoken to him, he saw Diesel come into the building, and he looked tired. Ross wonders where Lex Luger stands in this whole situation. I’m guessing next to a fax machine, waiting for the ink to dry on his WCW deal

Backstage, Shawn psyches himself up for the rematch

Barry Didinsky hypes the new Diesel t-shirt

SummerSlam ad. Apparently Diesel is into old ladies, and that’s a selling point

Backstage, Dok Hendrix is waiting at the door because Davey Boy and Luger could come in at any moment, and he wants to get word with them if they show up

We take a look at the Isaac Yankem vignettes

Bret Hart is going to extract Yankem from the WWF. Well, that certainly didn’t work out for him

Backstage, Stan Lane and Raymond Rougeau hype the Superstar Line. I’d forgotten either guy was still with the promotion at this point

Some guy Todd introduces as ‘Big Al’ performs a SummerSlam hype song, in the same style as the Superstars theme from this period, right down to the ‘are you ready?’ chorus. He’s also very obviously lip synching and pretending to play the guitar. And the director is so clueless that they keep zooming in on him. And then Todd explains that the song is actually for WrestleMania XI, which feels like a weird thing to spend time on, nearly five months after the show

BUExperience: This was a totally phoned in effort. They couldn’t even manage to make this show seem exciting, aside from the Ladder match. And even then, the excitement stemmed from how awesome the first match was, rather than any actual storyline or build.
