Original Airdate: September 10, 1994
Your Host is Todd Pettengill in the studio. This is the UK version of the show
Well Dunn v 1-2-3 Kid and Thurman Sparky Plugg: From Milwaukee Wisconsin on August 30 1994. The ring gear here is enough to give a colorblind man a migraine. Timothy Well starts with Plugg, and Plugg dominates, knocking him over the top with a clothesline, and diving with a plancha. Back in, Plugg with a headscissor takedown, and a pair of dropkicks. That draws Steven Dunn in, but Kid cuts him off, and the babyfaces clean house. The dust settles on Dunn and Kid, and a criss cross allows Kid a monkeyflip, followed by a series of kicks. A cheap shot from Well allows Dunn to clobber him, however, and the heels quickly follow up with a double team. That’s enough to firmly turn the tide, and the heels work Kid over. Kid dodges a double team to allow the hot tag, and Plugg runs wild. He dives on Dunn with a flying splash, but Steven lifts a boot to block, and gets the tag to Well. A criss cross sees Plugg make a bling tag to pass to Kid, and Kid comes in with a spinheel kick at 9:34. Basic, but solid, as Kid is a great heat segment guy. He really should have had a stronger career as a tag wrestler. And I say that fully realizing that he was a multi-time tag champion anyway. **
Back in the studio, Todd hypes the Hart Attack Tour
Yokozuna v Tom O'Sullivan: From Wrestling Challenge on September 4 (taped August 16) in Lowell Massachusetts. Yokozuna is actually looking pretty fired up this week, and goes to town on poor Tom. A pair of legdrops finishes at 1:46. Good energy from the big guy this week. Afterwards, the lights flash, as Undertaker plays mindgames with Yoko. Or, you know, the lighting guy. ¼*
Todd takes a look back at the whole Lex Luger/Tatanka/Ted DiBiase drama. Todd is in his element here, and I like that they actually acknowledge all the stuff over the last few weeks (like the Corporation ‘attacking’ Tatanka) as set ups
The Smoking Gunns v The Heavenly Bodies: From the September 3 Superstars (taped August 17) in Portland Maine. Cornette runs his mouth before the bell, so the Gunns go after him, but the Bodies attack from behind, and stomp their hats! Oh shit. The Gunns lose their minds and tear them limb from limb, and there’s no match. Well, fair. I wouldn’t want to get in there with two guys so tightly wound that they lose it that over a couple of Stetsons. Though, they are called the ‘Gunns,’ shouldn’t come as any surprised that they’re easily triggered
The Headshrinkers v Bill Mata and Nick Barberry: From the September 4 Wrestling Challenge. They cut the entrances out here, I’m assuming because the Headshrinkers still had the belts at this point. Although, weren’t they slated to drop them to Bam Bam and IRS anyway? So maybe they came out without them. I know it doesn’t matter (like, at all), but this is the kind of stuff I think about on a regular basis. The Headshrinkers with a splash at 2:32. DUD
Jim Neidhart v Richie Rich: From the September 4 Wrestling Challenge. No love for RAW this week, huh? I do dig Neidhart trolling the fans with the Hart Foundation music, though. Jim with a camel clutch at 2:42. Neidhart’s squashes felt endless during this period. DUD
Todd sexually harasses some poor intern to close the show
BUExperience: I dug the Mania exclusive match, but not much else doing this week.
