WWF King of the Ring Countdown Show (June 19, 1994)

Original Airdate: June 19, 1994

Your Host is Todd Pettengill from inside the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore Maryland

Todd runs down the card to start

Bret Hart/Diesel feud review video. A basic, but very well structured program

Todd goes up into the upper deck, showing us the view from the cheap seats. These folks are too poor to get good seats, and now they’re being subjected to Todd? Brutal

Todd hypes the King of the Ring Hotline, as long as you’ve got your wallet out and your dialing hand warmed up

Johnny Polo catches up with Shawn Michaels in the locker room, and he’s not worried about whatever mystery family member Bret is planning to have in his corner tonight

Todd is still in the cheap seats, annoying the poor

King of the Ring ad, focusing on Bret/Diesel

Video package reviewing the brackets in the tournament, along with the qualifying matches that got us here

Todd is out by the entrance area, where Thurman Plugg is taking on Kwang in the dark match

On Countdown to the Crowning, Randy Savage made his predictions, in a way only the Macho Man/a drug addict outside a bus depot can

Polo is backstage with Mabel, who he predicts will win. Kind of funny to think he’d pick him, considering Men on a Mission had just finished feuding with his Quebecers all spring

King of the Ring ad, focusing on Roddy Piper/Jerry Lawler

Randy Savage makes his entrance in the arena, where he’ll be doing commentary. Art Donovan makes a cameo here, missing his mark, and thinking this is his entrance. Yeah, seems about right

Piper/Lawer feud review

Todd pretends he’s Roddy Piper, and makes an entrance

Backstage, Polo makes fun of him, complete with a (very bad) Piper impression

New Generation ad

At ringside, the commentators are doing the mic check. Donovan sleeps. He looks completely checked out, like someone took his batteries out. Luckily, they got it back in for the live show. Very luckily

In the ring, Todd steals a camera, and films the crowd, then asks each commentator for a prediction: Gorilla Monsoon picks Mabel. Savage refuses to pick. Donovan picks Razor Ramon. So many people picking Mabel… maybe they’re time travelers?

BUExperience: This is Todd in his element, and I’m here for it.
