Public Enemy walk the streets with their baseball bats. But it’s ECW, so no one cares
Backstage, Too Cold Scorpio doesn’t feel that Doink the Clown should be saved
Too Cold Scorpio v Borne Again: From Hamburg Pennsylvania on September 30. This disheveled Doink deal is tremendous. Slugfest to start, initially dominated by Borne, but won by Scorpio. Scorpio with a spinkick for two, and a superkick is worth two. Another kick puts Borne on the outside, and Scorpio gets him in an armbar on the way back in, so Borne goes to the eyes. Borne with a corner whip, but the charge in gets blocked, and Scorpio goes up with a flying bodypress for two. Back to the armbar, and a bodyslam sets up a pump-elbowdrop for two. Scorpio decides to stop and dive at Mr. Hughes on the outside, but that proves to be a mistake, as Hughes beats him up. Borne tries a double team, but ends up hitting Hughes, and Borne is left begging off. Scorpio hits him with an atomic drop, but a corner splash misses, and Hughes passes Borne a chair. The referee objects, so Borne dumps the official, and hits Scorpio with the chair. That allows Borne to go up with the flying seated senton splash, but the referee comes to, and calls the DQ at 10:23. Solid match, weak finish. Borne remains an interesting character, though, one of the best in the promotion at this point. Afterwards, Borne makes a downed Scorpio wear the Doink mask, but that sets Scorpio off, and he destroys the clown. *
Backstage, Borne yuks it up
ECW Television Title Match: Jason v Mikey Whipwreck: From Hamburg Pennsylvania on September 30. They feel each other out to start, with Jason in control. Jason holds an armbar, but Whipwreck won’t quit, so Jason dropkicks him. Jason with a fistdrop, and he goes upstairs, but takes too long, and Mikey slams him off. Whipwreck goes up with a flying clothesline, but the referee gets bumped in the process, and there’s no one to count. That allows Public Enemy to come in and attack Whipwreck with the bat, and they throw Jason on top for the pin at 7:32. Afterwards, the Enemy continue the beating, but Cactus Jack makes the save. ½*
Tommy Dreamer is at home, reflecting on what he did to Sandman, and looking like a broken man. He wanted to be hardcore, but this is too much for him. Tommy is in tears here, as he promises to dedicate the rest of his career to the benefit of Sandman
BUExperience: Good angles, interesting characters. Good episode.
