Original Airdate: July 6, 1990
Your Host is Jim Ross from outside of the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore Maryland
Stan Hansen announces that he’s back, but also meaner and nastier than ever. That’s a terrifying thought
Gary Juster stops by to tell Ross that this Great American Bash is the best card he’s ever promoted
State Patrol v Tommy Rich and Tim Horner: From Gainesville Georgia on June 25. Lt. James Earl Wright starts with Horner, and they feel each other out. Tag to Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker, but Horner shrugs him off, and passes to Rich. The babyfaces dominate Parker by using quick tags, but Horner eventually gets into trouble, and worked over. Rich catches the hot tag, and Rosanne Barr the door! The Patrol try to whip them at each other, but it backfires when Rich hits a Thesz press at 9:21. ½*
Great American Bash ad
Arn Anderson v Tim Parker: From Gainesville on June 25, with the NWA Television title not on the line. Tim Parker, Tim Horner… we need to get some more creative and exciting jobber names. Arn with a rotating spinebuster at 3:49. DUD
Gordon Solie is in the studio for Wrestling News Network, and obviously the talk is all about tomorrow’s Great American Bash pay per view
The Steiner Brothers v Dutch Mantel and Paul Sampson: From Gainesville on June 25. Ross predicts that Scott Steiner will become world champion sometime in the early 90s. Well, he was only off by a decade there. The usual Steiner’s throwing guys around here, and Ross openly doesn’t know how to call some of the moves. I get that he might be lost in Japan, but a pumphandle-slam broke his brain? Scott with the rana at 4:52. ¼*
Buddy Landel v Stanley Littlebear: From Gainesville on June 25. Ross sounds like he’s disparaging Littlebear’s heritage, simply because he never met any ‘Littlebears’ while growing up ‘around the Indians’ in Oklahoma. The more I listen to ‘prime’ Jim Ross the less I like him, and the less I understand why everyone seemed to think he was the greatest. But, the more I understand why he was great friends with Bill Watts. Buddy scores the pin at 4:10. DUD
Jim Cornette introduces clips of Ric Flair’s great wins from over the last year, as a reminder to Sting that this champion is no pushover
Big Van Vader hype video
Stan Hansen v Joe DeFuria: From Gainesville on June 25. Hansen split screens in here, to give us double the fun. Stan with the lariat and an elbowdrop at 1:56. DUDble the fun
BUExperience: A fun hype show for the Bash, though not much of any real note going on here.
