Original Airdate: June 22, 1993 (taped May 14)
From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Your Hosts are Jay Sulli and Paul E. Dangerously. Paul gloats about Eddie Gilbert winning against Terry Funk at Super Summer Sizzler, though this was actually taped before that even happened
We open with a replay of the match between ECW Television Champion Jimmy Snuka and Hawk on last week’s show
Backstage, Stevie Wonderful is with Ivan and Vladimir Koloff, who basically just want to let us know that they exist
ECW Title Match: Don Muraco v Tommy Cairo: Cairo is the ECW Pennsylvania State champion, but only Don's belt is on the line. Lots of stalling from Muraco in the early going, as Eddie Gilbert hangs around ringside, looking like he's ready to cause trouble. Cairo with a backdrop for two, so he works an armbar. He hits a suplex, but Don reverses the pin on him to retain at 3:45. This sucked. DUD
Backstage, Dangerously wants to read Dark Patriot a fairytale. Maybe he should try the one about the journeyman who can’t cash a check
Dark Patriot v JT Smith: Patriot fights off an armbar and unloads in the corner, and he whips Smith into the ropes to blast with a backelbow. Sidewalk slam gets two, but Smith fights him off with a headscissors, and dives with a flying moonsault for two. Corner charge misses, however, and Smith takes a bump to the outside off of it. Patriot follows to whip him into the post, but Smith reverses, and back in we go. The referee gets bumped, so they spill back to the outside for a brawl into the crowd. They end up on the balcony, where Patriot knocks him off, and he dives after him with a crazy flying splash on the concrete! Those are some pretty crazy bumps! That, not shockingly, is it for Smith, and Patriot takes the countout win at 5:53. This was actually a solid little match even before the two insane bumps. * ½
Backstage, Rockin' Rebel and Tony Stetson are going to take out Sandman and Larry Winters tonight, and if Peaches gets in the way, she'll get some too
Sandman and Larry Winters v Rockin' Rebel and Tony Stetson: Sandman and Winters clean house to start, and the dust settles on Larry and Tony. Larry runs wild on him, and a backdrop leaves Tony begging off in the corner. Winters shows no mercy with a bootchoke, and the babyfaces pinball Stetson around in the corner. Larry with a vertical suplex to set up a legdrop, and a kneelift has Tony scrambling to tag. Larry keeps it going on Rebel, so Tony takes a cheap shot from the apron, turning the tide. The heels go to work on Larry, but Sandman gets the hot tag, and Roseanne Barr the door. Peaches gets involved, so Rebel goes over to make good on his promise from earlier, but Sandman sneaks up with a schoolboy at 5:57. *
Six-Man Tag Team Match: Sir Christopher Candido, Sir Jonathan Hotbody, and Sir Richard Michaels v Salvatore Bellomo and The Super Destroyers: Candido starts with one of the Destroyers, and as always, he's head and shoulders above all the other workers in this thing. There's even a nice bit here where they botch a leapfrog, but Candido thinks fast, and turns it into a failed powerbomb attempt instead. It's too bad Chris didn't end up in WCW instead of the WWF, he probably could have been a pretty good hand and star on Nitro as a cruiserweight. The babyfaces work Hotbody over, but Michaels gets the tag, and why is this being booked all backwards? Like, Michaels is working like he's a total babyface here. He misses a flying splash to cut the Destroyers back in control, and they cut the ring in half. Finally, the Suicide Blonds get control by cheating, but it lasts all of five seconds, and Roseanne Barr the door. And then Eddie Gilbert runs out (since he needs to be in every single segment of this show), and the whole thing is ruled a no contest at 8:51. And then the rest of Hot Stuff International run out, and we have a giant brawl to close the show. ¾*
BUExperience: This show is getting worse and worse, and I only hope I can stick with it long enough to get to the actual good stuff.
