HITMAN383 Rant for the NWA Crockett Cup 1988
- The HITMAN383 Rant for the NWA Crockett Cup, 1988. This is
the Turner Video version, and was basically a tag team tournament for some cup
and a $1,000,000. It also took place over two-nights, in two different venues. (This
was originally written in 2002)
HITMAN383 Rant for NWA Great American Bash 1987
- The HITMAN383 Rant for NWA Great American Bash 1987. A
little info first: back in the day, the GAB wasn’t a single show like it is
today, but rather a tour that they did and then compiled a tape at the end with
all the big matches. (This was originally written in 2000)

WWE SummerSlam 2014

HITMAN383 Rant for ECW Hardcore History (DVD)
- The HITMAN383 Rant for ECW Hardcore History. The forth
“Best of” tape for ECW (or in this case, DVD) and I’m hoping it will be good. (Originally
written in September 2001)
- First, I’d like to put in my opinion on the incidents of September 11. Unbelievable. I will forever remember where I was when I heard the news (11th grade math class. There was a commotion in the hallway, and when the teacher came back from telling those kids to quiet down, everyone wanted to know what had them all riled up. He explained that a plane had crashed into one of the towers at the World Trade Center, and we all figured he was messing with us), and saw the Twin Tower’s collapse. (By lunch time, every class had stopped doing anything/requiring attendance, and turned on the TVs. The first image I saw was of the second tower collapsing, in my marketing class) For someone who’s been up on the observation deck, it was especially hard to watch. I remember looking straight down, and thinking “damn, that’s a LONG, LONG fall.” People had to take that fall. Some people even had to jump off. That scares me. I hope the United States is going to wake up on airline security, and on our policies on terrorist harboring nations, and those who provide the money to them. G-D Bless America.
HITMAN383 Rant for ECW Deep Impact (DVD)
- And now: The HITMAN383 Rant for ECW Deep Impact, DVD. (This
was another I found on a trip to Vegas in 2001, and was written that September)
HITMAN383 Rant for ECW Path of Destruction (DVD)
- Might as well expand the old ECW section, eh? Today, The
HITMAN383 Rant for ECW Path of Destruction DVD. After this: Deep Impact, and
Hardcore History. I guess I’m just a softy for requests. (This was originally written in
the fall of 2001, as now I had a PS2 for DVD capability. Found this (and a few
other ECW DVDs) when on a family vacation to Las Vegas at the tail end of Summer)
HITMAN383 Rant for ECW Extreme Evolution (VHS)
- BY POPULAR DEMAND! Yes, you the readers chose for me to
rant on this show, so here it is, the HITMAN383 Rant for ECW Extreme Evolution!
Remember, I am not a big ECW mark (well, 1995, 1996), hence I have ONE ECW
tape, and don’t much care for their stuff. So if you’re a mutant from Philly,
you may not like what I have to say =) (This was originally written in 2000, and is
on the VHS version)
HITMAN383 Rant for the Net.Cop Busts
- My next rant is one that many of you have wanted: The
Net.cop Busts. Or maybe now it's the Scott Keith Busts. (And now the SmarK Busts?)
Whichever. As you know, this is a compilation of the worst moments in wrestling
history, put together in one 6 hour tape by Mr. Keith. Though my copy is bad,
and hard to see, I still review it for all of you. (I don’t know that anyone
remembers the Net.Cop Busts, but if you were a cool smart fan in the late
90s/early 00s, having a copy was your ID card. My copy was one of the last ever
produced, with Scott’s master tape basically being held together by scotch tape
by then. The quality was so bad, in fact, that he threw in WrestleWar ’89 just
to even it out)
HITMAN383 Rant for PCW TV - June 7, 2002
- The HITMAN383 Rant for PCW T.V. June 7, 2002. This is a
one-match show (Mike Gallows vs. Jackal in the tournament finals), in one hell
of a match. (This was originally written around then)
HITMAN383 Rant for PCW April Action Zone 2002
- The HITMAN383 Rant for PCW Action: April. This is
basically just a compilation for some matches from April 2002 PCW shows. (And
this was originally written around then)

WWF Sunday Night Slam (November 1994)
Original Airdate: November 20, 1994 (Taped November 8)
From Bushkill, Pennsylvania; Your Hosts are Gorilla Monsoon and Stan Lane. Oddly, this show is taped a day after they did a three-week RAW taping from the same venue. Even with this small crowd of only 1,500, I can’t believe they were able to draw two nights in a row

HITMAN383 Rant for PCW TV - March 29, 2002
- The HITMAN383 Rant for PCW T.V., March 29 2002. This is
the weekly T.V. show, which I got a copy of from the crew, so here it is.
HITMAN383 Rant for PCW Chronicles
- The HITMAN383 Rant for PCW Chronicles. This is a tape of
not really the best matches, but all the important angles from pretty much the
start (summer 2000) to today (March 2002), while skipping over fall/winter
2001, since that period is covered in “Winter Warfare.” (This was originally written in
March 2002)
Friday, August 8, 2014
HITMAN383 Rant for PCW Winter Warfare 2001/2002
- The HITMAN383 Rant for PCW “Winter Warfare.” This is
essentially a “best of” tape of everything after September Salvation 2001 until
March 2002, which I like to call “winter warfare” for obvious reasons. (This
was originally written in the spring of 2002)
HITMAN383 Rant for PCW September Salvation 2001
(And now, for something really different…
As a bit of background, this was a backyard fed my friends and I ran in
high school, usually playing to other kids in the subdivision on weekends or
school breaks. We lived in Upstate New
York, so most shows were ‘weather permitting.’ Some
of the guys actually went on to become professional wrestlers, though most
don’t even follow the product anymore these days)
- The HITMAN383 Rant for PCW September Salvation. PCW is a
backyard federation who I co-promote with (There is a link all over my site),
and they have REALLY great production values. Especially for a backyard fed.
And, most of the time, they do a better job of keeping storylines/allegiances
from week to week then the WWF does. They also have some terrific commentators.
(I
was one of those commentators, doing a bad Jim Ross impression. Good times,
though. I also provided the promotions championship belt – the WCW ‘big gold’
replica that came out in 1998, which was as close as you could get to the real
thing in those days. This was originally written in early 2002)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWE Home Video: Hulk Still Rules

name, but this isn’t the same tape. That one was from 1994, and this from 1997.
Still, Bret Hart is Bret Hart. (This was originally written in 2002)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Home Video: Mick Foley, Hard Knocks and Cheap Pops
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Home Video’s “Mick Foley: Hard
Knocks and Cheap Pops” DVD. I picked this one up recently, so why not give it a
go? (Originally
written in the summer of 2002)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Bret 'Hitman' Hart
- The HITMAN383 Rant for Coliseum Video’s Bret Hitman Hart.
This is part of a seven video purchase I made out in Jersey
this week which included a couple King of the Ring’s (’95 and ’97), a couple
Survivor Series’ (’95 and ’96), and two Bret Hart tapes. Plus one In Your House
(Cold Day in Hell). This one is from 1994, during his title reign. (Originally
written in June 2002)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Slamfest 1995
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Slamfest 1995. This is a

- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF/Coliseum Video Grudges, Gripes,

WCW Spring Stampede 2000
With the promotion spiraling out of control, and ratings in a free-fall, WCW once again chopped the head (Kevin Sullivan) off, and replaced him with the two-headed monster of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo. Their first move was to ‘reboot’ the entire promotion, in-turn vacating all the titles, and necessitating tournaments to crown new champions – which was to conclude at Spring Stampede.

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Most Unusual Matches
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF’s Most Unusual Matches. This
pretty much rounds out the 86-87 Coliseum tapes, until I can find more, that is
(Originally
written in 2001)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: The Best of the WWF, Volume X
- The HITMAN383 Rant for the Best of the WWF, Volume X.
Continuing the series, here is this one. To note, I wish the WWF was still
coming out with the “Best of the WWF” series. It lasted until like, 1991, I
think. And then that was it. Damn shame. (Originally written in 2001)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: The Best of the WWF Volume IX

- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Inside the Steel Cage. This is
another Coliseum tape, this time from about 1987. It’s the first in a series of
1986-87 tapes upcoming: This, Most Unusual Matches, Best of the WWF IX and X. I
hope it’s fun.

WWF Monday Night RAW (December 20, 1993)
Original Airdate: December 20, 1993 (Taped November 29). Really weird taping schedule here, as they aired a live show last week, and now pulled this one from the previous taping cycle back in November.
From White Plains, New York; Your Hosts are Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels. What I’ve never understood about wrestlers doing guest commentary, is why do they come out dressed in full ring gear? I mean, do you really need wrist tape?

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: World Tour 1991
- The HITMAN383 Rant for Coliseum Video/WWF World Tour 1991.
The concept here is that they go around the world with various matches. The bad
part is “international” probably means “Alfred Hayes,” and that ALREADY makes
me dislike the tape a little.
- Sidenote: Family Guy is back on FOX! Rejoice! (This was originally written in the Summer of 2001, back when Family Guy returned for the first time after being cancelled. I’ve since long lost interest in the show however, and frankly, I’m surprised they’re still going)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Best of the WWF Volume VI
- The HITMAN383 Rant for Best of the WWF Volume VI. This has
a Star Wars type theme, and came out in about 1985. Let’s see how it holds up
to the test of time! (This one was originally written in 2001)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Best of the WWF Volume XVIII
- The HITMAN383 Rant for Best of the WWF Volume XVIII, from
1989. I hope this one’s good, since the box doesn’t really tell you much about
the tape. Either way, let’s get right to it. (Another one originally written
in 2001)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Wham, Bam, Bodyslam
- Next up on the Coliseum Video hit list: Wham, Bam,
Bodyslam, from 1995. This looks somewhat promising, too. (This was originally written in
2001)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Smack 'Em, Whack 'Em
- Over my vacation I stopped by a little mom and pop shop
and picked up a couple of good looking Coliseum tapes: WWF’s Smack ‘Em, Whack
‘Em, Best of the WWF Volume VI, Best of the WWF Volume XVIII, and Wham Bam
Bodyslam. Hey, they all look okay, and were cheap, so what the hell? Let’s
start with “Smack ‘Em, Whack ‘Em” which looks very promising. (This
one was originally written in 2001)

WWF Monday Night RAW (November 22, 1993)
Original Airdate: November 22, 1993
Your Hosts are Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan from a studio, as this is a special edition of RAW, made up of highlights from the WWF’s Survivor Series Showdown special that aired the day before – which itself was made up from matches at various tapings in November. Jim Ross and Gorilla Monsoon provide commentary for the matches.
WWF Monday Night RAW (November 15, 1993)
Original Airdate: November 15, 1993 (Taped November 8)
From Bushkill, Pennsylvania; Your Hosts are Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan. Randy Savage is suspended as a result of the brawl with Crush during last weeks show.

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Supertape II
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF/Coliseum Video Supertape II.
This came out around 1990, and has some WWF action, including a ton of stuff
from a MSG house show in late 1989. (This was originally written in 2001)
HITMAN383 Rant: WrestleMania? Which to Rent?
- A special HITMAN383 Rant. I figured, since I’ve seen every
WrestleMania so far, I might as well run through all of them, and score them on
a five-star scale, along with brief comments. (Basically written because I didn’t
have anything to rant on, as this was 2001 – pre-Youtube, pre-WWE Network)
- Those of you who follow my work for a while will note that I have one of these up at the Rant Center. I did that a long time ago, however, and I’m not that crazy about it. (I actually dug that up, too, and it will be included at the end)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Shawn Michaels' Greatest Hits
Hey guys. Continuing my trek thru ALL my tapes, is another
Coliseum Video, this one being "Shawn Micheals: Best HITS from the
heartbreak Kid!" Well, it's Shawn, so lets hope it's good. I mean, we can
see the Survivor Series 1992 match, him and Marty Jannety, the two ladder
matches. This tape should rock. (this is sarcasm... you'll see why later.) (This
was originally written in 2000 – apparently a time before I learned how to
spell the subjects name)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: Most Amazing Matches
- This is a tape released by Coliseum Video in 1996 called
"WWF's Most Amazing Matches." (This was originally written in 2000)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Good Times Home Video: Most Unusual Matches... Ever!
Okay, we're moving right along thru these tapes. I got two
done yesterday, and here's a third one at you today. This time, it's "Good
Times Home Video presents: WWF's Most UNUSUAL matches.... EVER!" Well, the
cover has Shawn and Bret falling off a ladder, so I have HOPE BAYBE~! Though
the back of the box shows Jim Duggan and Mabel, so maybe I'm getting too
excited. (This was originally written in 2000)
- Anyway, WWF's Most Unusual matches Ever. Released in 1994.
(I remember finding this in some bargain bin
at a WalMart around 1995. Still had it in my parents’ house until they moved a
couple of year back, and now some hobo probably has it. Enjoy, hobo!)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: WrestleFest ’94
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF/Coliseum Video’s WrestleFest
’94. Like I mentioned in my “MORE Saturday Night’s Main Event” rant, I bought
this at a little mom and pop store here in New York City. I’ve heard good things about
the Harts/Steiner’s match, so lets see how it holds up, shall we? (This
was originally written in 2000)
Saturday, May 3, 2014
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Coliseum Video: MORE Saturday Night’s Main Event
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF/Coliseum Video’s MORE Saturday
Night’s Main Event. I stopped by a little mom and pop store today and picked up
this and WWF’s Wrestlefest ’94. A rant on that is coming too. (This
was originally written in 2000)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Smackdown (April 4, 2002)
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Smackdown, April 4, 2002. I
attended this one live, so I feel like reviewing it, naturally. Also, if you
have any tapes I could use to review, and want to send them over, please drop
me a line. (Written within a day or two of airdate. And unlike that November 2000
episode, this one I vividly remember. In fact, this would be the last live show
(outside of some Indy stuff) I would attend until Hell in a Cell in October
2013)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Smackdown (November 2, 2000)
- Why not? Let’s do SMACKDOWN! (Well, the ‘why’ was because I
attended this show. This was originally written within a day of airtime)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania X8
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania X-8, and Heat. I
didn’t particularly care for this show the first time around (outside of the
Hogan/Rock match), and I’m not particularly excited to watch it again, but
let’s give it a go anyway. (This one was originally written on October
3, 2002 and has the distinction of being the penultimate rant I did as
HITMAN383, and the second to last that I would do until almost exactly 10 years
later, when I launched BUExperience in October 2012)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania X-7
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XVII. Yeah, sure,
why not? It was a good one, and I might as well do something on it, right?
Seriously, I LOVED this show when I saw it live, but I never can tell how I
REALLY like it until I review it, piece by piece. So, here we go… (Very
true. I remember absolutely loving WrestleMania XV the night it aired, but once
you get some perspective, you realize what a piece of shit show it was – with
multiple negative-star matches, and insane booking)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Fully Loaded 2000
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Fully Loaded 2000. This was the
show that had a triple main event, with three of the “old guard” vs. three of
the “new blood” so to speak. (This is another I haven’t done a
BUExperience on, and it was originally written in late 2000)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Judgment Day 2000
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Judgment Day, 2000! This show
took place in May, and was considered a kick ass show by all who reviewed it at
the time, with the Iron Man Match being called “legendary.” Under those
credits, I went out and bought it. A full $25.00 at Tower Video. $25.00. IT
DAMN WELL BETTER BE LEGENDARY! (This is another one I haven’t gotten around
to doing a BUExperience on, and this was originally written in October 2000.
Fear not though, I have the Network now. I don’t have to rely on Tower Video to
get shit done anymore)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 2000
- The WWF’s 2000 Royal Rumble show was the first show in a
series of kick ass PPV’s the WWF produced in early 2000. When it first came out
in January, it was heralded as an all time classic, with a kick ass Street
Fight for the WWF Title. Let’s see how it holds up. (This one was originally written
in very late 2000)
- Okay, I was just over at RS.com, and I’ve gotta know:
WHAT? How did Scott find Beach Blast 1992 as Highly Recommended? Maybe we were
watching different shows, because there is NO WAY that opener was almost ****,
or the main event *** ½. Please note, however, this is NOT a knock at Scott. I
just felt that show sucked so bad, and was shocked to see it get such a good
review from someone as respected as Scott. Anyway, to each his own, I guess. (My
opinion sure has changed on that one. Yeah, the opener is nowhere near four
stars, but the main event is a solid three stars, there is a really good
Sting/Cactus match, and a brilliant Rude/Steamboat Iron Man, so it’s not like
the show sucks, or anything)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF No Mercy 1999
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF No Mercy 1999. Good ol’ General
J.D. of PCW fame has hooked me up with a couple tapes (this, and Fully Loaded
1998), and as long as he’s kind enough to continue doing so, expect a bunch of
1996-1998 WWF/WCW rants. (This
is one I actually haven’t done a BUExperience on yet, but it is coming. This
version was originally written in early 2002)
- This show comes in the era RIGHT after Vince Russo left the WWF for WCW, and many people were claiming the WWF would fall without Russo. Hey, hindsight is 20/20 and all, but forget the nWo, the real poison to your promotion is Vince Russo! … and Stephanie McMahon, of course.
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XV
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XV, dead in the
middle of the strongest point of the Russo-era. Live, it was the greatest show
I’ve ever seen. But almost three years have passed since then, and I’m ready to
give it the test of time. (This was originally written in early 2002)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1998
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1998! Well, it’s a
few days late, but here it is SummerSlam ’98. Considered by many a VERY kick
ass show, and rightly so. Lets see how well it holds up, eh? (This
one was originally written in 2000)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF King of the Ring 1998
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF King of the Ring 1998. A really
famous show, that has been asked for a couple of times. I’m here to serve,
damnit! In all honesty, I really do like this show, so unlike WrestleWar ’91, I
have no problem watching it. (This was originally written in Spring 2002)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XIV
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XIV. This never
struck me as being a great show, but I have been known to be off on initial
judgments until I actually sit down and review it. We’ll see if this fits into
that category. (This was originally written in 2001)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1998
- Okay, I picked this one up at TOWER Video this week. (Tower
Video? Holy shit. Must have been the one across the street from the Blockbuster
Video) Lets see if it's any good. This is considered the
"turnaround" show for the WWF against WCW. (This was originally written in 2000, when
WCW was still a thing)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF In Your House: Badd Blood (October 1997)
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Badd Blood 1997! (This
was originally written in 2000) Actually, forget that exclamation point
… this show REALLY sucks. The only thing that saves it is the Hell in the Cell
main event. And it saves it like NOTHING ELSE CAN, and is one of the best main
events you’ll ever see … anywhere.

WWF Monday Night RAW (August 2, 1993)
Original Airdate: August 2, 1993 (Taped July 25)
From Alexandria Bay, New York; Your Hosts are Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan. Man, this building would be fine for a house show, but it comes off really weird on TV – looking like they’re wrestling inside of a factory.

WWF Monday Night RAW (April 5, 1993)
Original Airdate: April 5, 1993 (Taped March 22)
From New York, New York; Your Hosts are Vince McMahon and Randy Savage. Rob Bartlett is ‘stuck in Las Vegas’ after WrestleMania – which is even weirder when you consider that the show was taped, and Bartlett was on the previous show. Vince immediately starts hyping ‘last nights’ WrestleMania as the greatest of all time.

WWF Monday Night RAW (March 15, 1993)
Original Airdate: March 15, 1993
From Poughkeepsie, New York; Your Hosts are Gorilla Monsoon, Rob Bartlett, and Bobby Heenan. It’s another impression week for comedic genius Rob Bartlett, this week doing the entire telecast ‘as’ Vince McMahon. Hey, at least he’s trying.

WWF Monday Night RAW (January 18, 1993)
Original Airdate: January 18, 1993
From New York, New York; Your Hosts are Vince McMahon, Rob Bartlett, and Randy Savage – oh, but here's Repo Man! He jumps Savage from behind during the intros, and steals his hat - disappearing into the crowd before Savage knows what happened.
Friday, March 21, 2014
WWF Monday Night RAW (January 11, 1993)
Original Airdate: January 11, 1993
With Saturday Night’s Main Event cancelled in the fall of 1992, and with the stale Prime Time Wrestling (around since 1985 and needing a replacement) going off the air in the first week of 1993, the WWF rolled the dice. What they landed on was Monday Night RAW – a gamble that paid off, and continues to do so over twenty years (and a thousand episodes) later.
From New York, New York; Your Hosts are Vince McMahon, Rob Bartlett, and Randy Savage. For those who weren’t around/were around and blocked it from your memories, Bartlett is a comedian from the New York area who was an absolute disaster on commentary. He was basically just a terrible fit for the WWF, not really knowing anything about the product, and basically just making jokes while McMahon and Savage were trying to get angles over. He lasted a couple of months, and then never appeared on WWE programming again.
WCW Fall Brawl 1997
From Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Your Hosts are Tony Schiavone, Larry Zbyszko, and Bobby Heenan.

WWF Coliseum Video Collection: The Macho Man Randy Savage & Elizabeth (1986)
WWF Coliseum Video Collection: The Macho Man Randy Savage & Elizabeth (1986)
Coliseum Video compilation. The cover of the tape features Randy Savage and Elizabeth (with the subtitle ‘she’s more than a manager… she’s Macho Man’s biggest fan!’) and promises to highlight his greatest matches. Though considering George Steele is prominently featured on the back cover, don’t hold your breath.

WCW Bash at the Beach 1997
With the WWE Network finally (finally!) here, I can finally (finally!) go back and fill in some blanks on missing reviews, as well as cover hours of additional content. Plus, it’s all available with closed captioning (another ‘finally’), so I can actually cover a lot of the segments in between the matches as well. New day!
From Daytona Beach, Florida; Your Hosts are Tony Schiavone, Dusty Rhodes, and Bobby Heenan.

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania 13
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XIII. Those who
have read my stuff for a while know I already think this is THE worst
WrestleMania yet, but I haven’t seen it in quite a while, so let’s see how it
holds up today. (Aside from a match here or there, I haven’t seen any of the
WrestleMania’s since XX, so that may not be true anymore)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF In Your House: Final Four (February 1997)
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF In Your House: Final Four. This

you guys pick on the site poll. Vote now!

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1997
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1997. Yes, I know,
it’s not on the poll, but it’s too close to call that poll right now, so I’ll
give you a while longer to decide, and in the meantime do this rant. (This
one was originally written in early 2002)
WWF Coliseum Video Collection: Villains of the Squared Circle (1986)
WWF Coliseum Video Collection: Villains of the Squared Circle (1986)
Coliseum Video compilation – hosted by Gene Okerlund, Bobby Heenan, Big John Studd, and King Kong Bundy. The cover of the tape features Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, King Kong Bundy, and a bunch of evil looking cartoons (evil because they have HANDLEBAR MUSTACHES!)
Friday, February 7, 2014
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Survivor Series 1996
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Survivor Series 1996. This is
the third of the “lucky seven” series I have going here at the rant center, and
is another show I’ve never seen before. I have seen the Bret/Austin match from
it individually before, but I have never seen the entire telecast, so here we
go! (Written
in late 2001)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF In Your House: Buried Alive (October 1996)
- Okay, another CRAPPY WWF PPV from 1996, this time
October's IYH, Buried Alive. (This one was originally written in 2000)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XII
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XII. When it came
out, it was my favorite WrestleMania, since I was such a big HBK fan. Of
course, time has passed since those mark days. Lets see if time has been kind
to this one. (This was originally written in
early 2001, with five years of perspective)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF In Your House (February 1996)
- Well, it was either this or Slamboree 1993 today. Guess
which I picked? If you guessed In Your House from February 1996, you’re right!
I’ll do this one first, and Slamboree next, k? So, without further adieu, the
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF In Your House, Feb. 1996. (This was originally written in
2000)
WWF Coliseum Video Collection: Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat (1986)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Survivor Series 1995
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Survivor Series 1995. This is
the next in the “lucky seven” set (That was a reference to seven tapes I’d
been hunting for ages, which I found at a random video store during a gas stop
on a road trip. I both miss and don’t miss those days. That also places this in
late 2001), and is a show I’ve never personally seen before, so I’m
definitely game to review it.
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF In Your House (May 1995)
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF In Your House, May 1995. This
was the first In Your House, as the WWF wanted to introduce more PPV’s to
compete with WCW’s bigger PPV line up. So, to spur interest, they decided to
give away a house. Did it work? Well, not really, since the show drew a 0.83
buyrate, and something like 7,000 people. Then again, this is 1995, so what are
you expecting? (This one was originally written in 2001)
Tuesday, January 28, 2014
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XI
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania XI. This is the
“special” “Encore Plus” version of the PPV (the one the WWF sells on home
video, and which was the encore PPV for this show) which has Roddy popping in now
and then for stupid “insight.” Talk about making a painful experience worse… (This
was originally written in 2001)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1995
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1995! This was the
first HBK won Royal Rumble leading to WrestleMania XI, and is a fairly solid
show if I can remember.
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Survivor Series 1994
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Survivor Series 1994. I know …
I know … I promised more of the ‘86-’87 Coliseum tapes, but I have this huge
urge to watch this again, so why not? I’ll get back to those tapes next. (This was originally written in late 2001)
HITMAN383 Re-Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1994
- The HITMAN383 Re-Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1994. This is for
no reason, really, other than I feel like watching it again. After all, it IS
from my favorite period in wrestling history, so any 1994 stuff is an easy
choice. If only I could find some T.V. shows from the era, or Royal Rumble
1994. (This was written in 2002, and well before everything was on YouTube.
Of course, today, it’s all NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK for me, but back then we
were still at the mercy of video stores)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1994
- Today here for one of the first PPV’s I saw live (as in,
on PPV) (I think that distinction goes to King of the Ring 1994, but this was
one of the first, yeah). I have always liked it as a mark, so lets see
how it holds up in the HITMAN383 rant for SummerSlam 1994!
Saturday, January 25, 2014
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF King of the Ring 1994
- King of the Ring 1994. One of my favorite show from back
in the day, because I AM the biggest 1994 WWF mark EVER! It’s actually a pretty
good show for everyone too, anyway.
- Also, I was told that many people wrote our webmaster at
wrestlingrants.com and told them they hate HITMAN383. Now, I don’t want to tell
anyone what/how to think, but considering I am one of the nicest and most
accessible writers on the ‘net today, I am a bit confused as to why I am
disliked. If you want to keep HITMAN383 at wrestlingrants.com, please write to
Joe (the Webmaster) at Joe@wrestlingrants.com and let him know you want
HITMAN383 to stay on. Thanks! (I don’t even remember that website, or that
entire drama today (this was originally written in late 2000). I wrote for a lot
of sites back then… some people liked it, some people didn’t, I guess)
- Also, thanks to the many of you who already have!
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania X
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania X! A while back in
my rant for NWA Great American Bash 1989, I commented that I felt (clashing
with the popular opinion) that it isn’t the greatest PPV ever, but that WM X
is. This is the one you want for great wrestling value, sports entertainment, a
feeling that the show is legendary, the historical value of it, and all around
entertainment.
- It’s also sort of a follow-up rant to SummerSlam ’98 (the
OTHER big MSG PPV) where I commented on the HHH/Rock ladder match not being on
the level of the Michaels/Razor version, and how much better the one at
WrestleMania X was.
- And even more stuff about this rant: It was my first show
as a mark, where I first found Bret Hart as my favorite wrestler and cemented
that forever. I mean, I was damn lucky to start watching around Royal Rumble
’94, and get the big build to WM and then see it. I miss 1994, and being a
mark…
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1993
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1993. Continuing the
SummerSlam rants, 1993’s edition. At the height of the WWF’s little “patriotic
Luger” run comes this show as he challenges the unbeatable Yokozuna for the WWF
title in his one and only opportunity at Yoko’s title. If he loses, he gets NO
rematch. So after a big build (including Luger riding cross-country on a bus) (And getting
his image on those awesome WWF ice cream bars they used to sell), the
ending seems pretty obvious, no? Luger wins the WWF title, right? Keep reading.
Friday, January 24, 2014
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF King of the Ring 1993
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF King of the Ring 1993, the
FIRST KOTR (on PPV anyway)! This is one of the most influential shows in WWF
history. Hulk Hogan finally gets flushed out of the WWF … for good. (Oh,
you can never really get rid of Hulk Hogan in the WWE. I think that has been
WELL established since) And Bret Hart continues to establish his legacy
in the tournament. Quite a little bit of history there.
HITMAN383 Re-Rant for WWF WrestleMania IX
- The HITMAN383 Re-Rant for WWF WrestleMania IX. Yes, there
IS a rant for this show already up, but I did it a long time ago, and gave the
show a good review. Since then, I’ve heard a ton of complaints that I’m nuts to
call WrestleMania IX a good show, and then some praising me for finally
appreciating the show. So I decided to go back, watch it again, and see once
and for all who was right. (This
was originally written in 2001)
WWF Coliseum Video Collection: The Life and Times of Captain Lou Albano (1986)

Palace. (Written in 1999)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1993
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1993. Well, I
finally got through all those old Coliseum tapes, so it’s back to business as
usual, I guess. (FF to 2014, and I’m going through a bunch of Coliseum tapes again –
this time starting with WF001 and working my way through everything I can get
my hands on)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Survivor Series 1992
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Survivor Series 1992. No real
reason for this one, other than I feel like it. Up next, however: SuperTape I …
featuring the promised Hogan/Beefcake vs. Savage/Zeus cage match! (How
I ever got more requests for freaking SuperTape than Survivor Series 1992, I’ll
never know)

HITMAN383 Re-Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1992
- The HITMAN383 Re-Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1992. I simply

it is. (This was originally written in 2002)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1992
- The HITMAN383 Rant for SummerSlam 1992. With this years
show JUST on the horizon, I’m going to go back to the older SummerSlams … 1992,
1993, 1994 (already up), 1998, and possibly 1990, 1991, and 1999 if I can get a
hold of them. (This one was originally written in 2000)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania VIII

mind either. One of my personal favorite shows.

HITMAN383 Re-Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1992
- The HITMAN383 Re-Rant for Royal Rumble 1992. I figured,
hey, I feel like watching this one again for, like, the last three weeks, and
since the original rant is pretty old anyway, why not? (This was written in October
2002, and is one of the last few shows I reviewed in the HITMAN383 days)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1992
- Picked this one up at Blockbuster today. (Man,
I miss Blockbuster. Sure, I’m a Netflix guy these days (though, I was a
Blockbuster guy until 2011 when all the stores in my area started disappearing),
but Blockbuster still had a place in my life. Sometimes, you’re in the mood for
some random movie from six years ago that isn’t on HBO anymore and you don’t
feel like waiting a couple of days for it in the mail. Plus, without
Blockbuster I would have never become the wrestling fan I did, as catching up
on old pay per views wasn’t as easy in 1994 as 2014) It's inspired with
everyone's recent talk of how great the Rumble match was, Bobby Heenan's
commentary, and weather or not bag pipes played. Should be interesting, eh? (This
was originally written in 2000)

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1991
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1991. I’m in the
mood for this one, so why the hell not, eh? It’s a pretty interesting show,
anyway. that’s for sure.

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania VII
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania VII. This was in
the very thick of the WWF’s Gulf War angle as Sgt. Slaughter was the World
Champion and was set to take on American Hero Hulk Hogan. Also, a lot of the
story lines for this came about at the 1991 Royal Rumble, all of which is
available RIGHT NOW at HITMAN383’s Rant
Center. (This
was also written in early 2001)
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1991
- I just felt like doing this one before I do WrestleMania
VII so: The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF Royal Rumble 1991! This is the Coliseum
Video version, BTW.
HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1990
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF SummerSlam 1990. Since I’ve got
this SummerSlam theme going lately (with ’91, ’92 and ’94 all being done
recently), I figured why not do ’90, too? Anyway, I’ve heard good things about
the Tag title match, so let’s check it out, eh?

HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania VI
- The HITMAN383 Rant for WWF WrestleMania VI. This is the
one that features the first Hogan/Warrior SUPER main event, and is held in the
jam-packed Skydome. One of my favorite shows in the mark days, but lets see how
it fares in the rant!
WCW Road Wild 1999
From Sturgis, South Dakota; Your Hosts are Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan.
